Friday Tales//Winter Escape

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Putting space between a vacation with children and the time to share it is a must. Whenever I return from time away, while caught under a mountain of laundry and the continuous battle to get back to a routine, my memories are foggy at best, and grumpy at worst. In the land of BC (before children) I couldn't wait to rush to the nearest photo kiosk to print off those digital images and stick them into an album or bore my family and friends with endless scrolling and a full recap. But now I find a good month is necessary to allow the dust to settle on my mind and heart. It is then that I can see the smile on my children's faces, on mine too, and remind myself why we travel in the first place. To find adventure, to open our minds, and to simply be together.

Our latest Winter Escape is remembered over on A Tale of Two Mamas today. A good dose of skiing accomplishments, snowy playgrounds, tall buildings, fancy hotels, first birthdays, and the perfect Midwest Winter Family Adventure.

Happy Friday! May your weekend be full of your own kind of adventures!
